- 6 slices of brioche bread sliced into thirds
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp of cinnamon plus more to taste
- 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
- 2 tbsp of brown sugar plus more to taste
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of milk any type works
- 2 tbsp of butter
- 1 tbsp of olive oil for frying
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
Prepare the bread: Cut each slice of brioche bread into thirds, creating perfect-sized sticks for dipping and frying.
Mix the batter: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin, and milk until smooth. This fragrant mixture will infuse your French toast with irresistible flavor. Heat the pan: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add olive oil. This combination ensures a golden-brown crust without burning.
Dip and fry: Quickly dip each brioche stick into the batter, coating both sides evenly. Be careful not to over-soak the bread. Fry the coated sticks for about 2 minutes per side, or until they achieve a beautiful golden-brown color.
Serve and enjoy: Remove the French toast sticks from the skillet and serve them warm. For an extra touch of indulgence, dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup on the side.
