1lbground beef
1small onionfinely diced
2clovesgarlicminced
1sprig of fresh thyme
2-3cupsbeef brothenough to submerge the noodles and beef
1cuphalf and half or heavy cream
1 1/2cupselbow macaroni
1 1/2cupsshredded cheddar cheese
1/2cupshredded Monterey jack cheese
1/2cupsour cream
1teaspoonpaprika
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoononion powder
1teaspoonItalian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsleyfor garnish (optional)
Instructions
Brown the Beef & Season: In a medium dutch pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Season the dish with powdered seasoning to taste and combine
Cook the Aromatics: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet as well as the fresh thyme. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the Broth: Pour in the beef broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Cook the Pasta: Add the elbow macaroni to the skillet. Stir to ensure the pasta is fully submerged in the liquid. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
Make it Cheesy: Once the pasta is cooked, Add in the cream and reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. Continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the comfort of this homemade classic!
