Cheesy Smoked Sausage Pasta

Ingredients

  • 13 oz turkey kielbasa sliced
  • 16 oz pasta of choice I used Mafalda Corta Pasta
  • 1/2 red bell pepper diced
  • 1/2 red onion diced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup Italian cheese shredded
  • 1 tsp all purpose seasoning
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for searing sausage

Instructions

  • In a nonstick pan, heat olive oil on medium heat
  • Brown sausage for 2-3 minutes
  • Once sausage begins to brown add peppers and onions and saute until fragrant, about 1 minute
  • To the sausage, peppers and onions add garlic and sun-dried tomatoes and saute for another 30 seconds
  • Next, melt butter and add heavy cream to the mixture and bring to a simmer
  • Season to taste with Italian seasoning, all purpose seasoning, kosher salt and pepper
  • Add marinara sauce and stir well to combine
  • Add cheese and mix well to melt
  • Once sauce is thickening and bubbling away, after about 5 minutes) add cooked pasta and stir to combine
  • Mix well and allow the pasta to absorb all the yummy sauce
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
