Prep Your Ingredients: Start by opening the can of Pillsbury biscuits. Carefully separate the biscuits and lay them out on a flat surface. Using your cookie cutter or bottle cap, cut out a small hole in the center of each biscuit to create the classic donut shape. Don’t toss the holes! These make perfect little donut bites.
Heat the Oil: Pour about an inch of vegetable oil into your skillet or frying pan. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F. You can test if the oil is ready by dropping in a small piece of dough—if it sizzles and floats, you're good to go.
Fry the Donuts: Carefully place a few donuts in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the donuts and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: While the donuts are still warm, mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll each donut in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated. Don’t forget to do the same with the donut holes!
Enjoy! Serve the donuts warm, and watch them disappear! These are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a quick treat later on.
