Ingredients

  • 1 package of smoked beef or turkey sausage thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ cups uncooked jasmine rice or rice of choice
  • ¼ cup bell peppers finely diced
  • ¼ cup celery finely diced
  • ¼ cup white onion finely diced
  • 1 can Campbell’s cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cans of water
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Maggie all-purpose or any all-purpose seasoning of choice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  • Saute the thin slices of sausage in olive oil on medium heat in large cast iron or oven-safe skillet. Do this for about 3-5 minutes, until both sides turn golden brown.
  • Set aside the sausage and add the bell peppers and onions to the skillet - saute until fragrant and soft, approximately 2 minutes
  • Add the garlic paste and season, followed by the rice. Mix everything until nicely blended in, and finish off by adding the sausage, cream of chicken soup. Finally, make it even for cooking.
  • Top off with cheese and leave it in the oven to bake for 30-40 minutes or until all the liquid is gone and the rice is tender. Serve up and savor every bite!
