Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups assorted colorful bell peppers thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms ends trimmed
  • 1 zucchini sliced
  • 1 white onion sliced
  • 1 yellow squash sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

For sauce

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Prep the Beef: Start by marinating the thinly sliced beef. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch and salt and pepper to taste. Toss the beef in this mixture, making sure each slice is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Stir Fry the Beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, carefully add the coated beef slices in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, add the remaining vegetable oil. Toss in the veggies and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the veggies are slightly tender but still vibrant and crisp.
  • Combine and Season: Return the crispy beef to the skillet with the sautéed veggies. Add the sauce and stir-fry everything together for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring that the flavors meld together beautifully.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Stir Fry Crispy Beef and Veggies over a bed of steamed rice. Garnish with white sesame seeds for an extra burst of flavor and texture.

Notes

The cornstarch will thicken the sauce quickly, have a splash of water on hand to loosen the consistency to your liking!
