Ingredients

  • 1 package of Sweet Hawaiian Rolls original
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup half and half or milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice spice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon optional since it's already in the pumpkin spice blend
  • Powdered sugar to taste to serve
  • Maple syrup to taste to serve
  • Whipped cream to taste to serve

To cook

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • To a bowl, combine the ingredients for the custard and whisk well until well combined
  • Use a toothpick to pierce small holes in the rolls then dunk the rolls into the custard and allow excess to drip off back into the bowl
  • To a warm griddle, add coconut oil and butter
  • Place the rolls on the griddle and cook on all sides for 2 minutes each side or until all sides are golden brown
  • Remove the french toast and plate
  • Top with powdered sugar, maple syrup and whipped cream as desired
  • Don't forget the bacon!

Notes

Cook on a medium low heat, it takes longer but you won't burn the french toast!
