Ingredients

  • 2 lbs bone in pork ribs
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • BBQ Sauce of choice I like Sweet Baby Rays

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 275 degreees
  • Clean your ribs and pat dry
  • On the back of the ribs remove the membrane with a pairing knife and discard
  • Rub a thin layer of mustard on the front and back of the ribs
  • Combine seasoning blend with liquid smoke and sprinkle all over the ribs front and back
  • Pat the seasoning blend into the ribs so it sticks
  • Cover the ribs in foil ensuring you seal it so no steam escapes while cooking
  • Cook the ribs on a baking tray for 2 1/2 to 3 hours (time will vary depending on the thickness of your ribs) Check ribs for desired tenderness after 2 1/2 hours
  • After ribs are removed from the oven add bbq sauce to taste and cook for another 15-30 minutes at 400 degrees to get a nice char on the skin of the ribs and ensure that the bbq sauce sticks (this will create a bark that resembles the grill!)
  • Remove ribs form oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes, then serve

Notes

If you don't eat pork ribs use beef ribs!
