Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or sweetener of choice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/3 cup chicken stock
  • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes or sriracha for heat
  • Cooked rice or quinoa for serving
  • Vegetables of your choice e.g., shredded carrots, white onion, red bell peppers, shredded cabbage, etc.
  • Garnishes: over easy egg sesame seeds, chopped green onions, fresh parsley, sriracha to taste

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrots and bell pepper and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes, then add garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
  • Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  • While the turkey is cooking, add the soy sauce, oyster sauce and seasoning
  • Once the turkey is cooked through, add the chicken stock and any additional vegetables of choice and let it simmer for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • Assemble your bowls by starting with a base of cooked rice or any grain or noodle of choice.
  • Top with the flavorful ground turkey mixture and add your desired garnishes like a fried egg and sriracha.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions and parsley for an extra burst of flavor.
