Best Memories So Far While Being Engaged

I seriously cannot believe it’s been five months since we’ve been engaged! This journey has been an amazing ride and I know it only get’s better from here. Being engaged is a great feeling, it’s like knowing that you are planning for the biggest party ever while just loving each other daily. It’s been so much fun and I can’t wait for what’s to come. I wanted to take a minute to check-in and just share with you all my favorite memories of being engaged so far.

1.Celebrating with my family and friends in Florida the day after Nate popped the question

This was my first memory as an engaged woman. Nate planned for us to take a flight out to Florida the day after he proposed. To my surprise my mom and cousins planned the cutest engagement party for us when we arrived. I loved having my best friend and family together to share in the moment of our engagement. The best part about it was that it happened the day after being engaged so we were still on such a high the whole time.

2.Spending our first Christmas together

Christmas for us has always been a challenging holiday because I always went back home to Florida to spend time with my family. We had usually had our Christmas celebration a couple days before I left. Since this was our first year being engaged over Christmas we decided to spend it together. My mom and little brother came up to New Jersey to spend the holiday with me, Nate and his family. It was an an amazing time and so many memories were made.

3.Being introduced as a fiancé and not a girlfriend

I love this because I had to actually get use to introducing Nate as my fiancé vs. my boyfriend. I love when we go somewhere new or meet new people and he refers to me as his fiancé it just makes this whole thing that much more real and exciting!

4.Wedding Venue hunting together

When we were hunting for a wedding venue together we had a great time. For the most part we thought we didn’t know what we wanted but once we saw it we both were blown away and knew instantly. Having that memory means a lot to me because it was so special just holding hands and touring the venue where we would eventually say our vows to one another before God. It was a really special moment.

5.Preparing and sending out our save the dates

Our save the date creation was quite the process. For the most part, I took the lead on it. Working with graphic designer to come up with the design of our magazine but once it was all said an done sitting down and writing out all our address on envelopes and going to get the stamps to mail everything out was really a great memory. It showed that we can easily work together and get things done efficiently without killing one another lol! I’m grateful to have a partner that supports my vision and helps in bringing it to life.

That’s it for now you guys! The countdown is on, only 8 short months to go until the big day! 🙂
