Cozy Sweater Weather

Baby, it’s cold outside. The weather has taken a turn for the worst and it is freezing, ya’ll! Last week we were easily still hitting the high sixties, fast forward to this week and everyone is saying mother nature in the north east is mad! The temperature is hovering in the thirties but feels like the twenties, how did this happen so fast? I’m not even that mad at the weather though because with cold means cozy sweaters and scarves and new coats! I still need to go shopping for that.

My favorite sweaters this season have all come from H&M! Earlier in fall when the temperatures were still very mild and in the seventies, I decided to splurge and get some heavy duty sweaters that I knew would last through the cold NYC winter. These sweaters are cozy, warm and stylish! The good news is they can also be paired with just about anything. My favorite way to wear them is with jeans or skirts.

I also love going with neutral tones because you can cary them from year to year. The camel sweater I have on in the above photo was from last season! I kept it in pretty good shape so was really excited to bring it out this weekend. It paired perfectly with this suede camel mini skirt (from about two seasons ago). You don’t need to buy a new winter wardrobe every year. It’s important to just add things that you NEED.

The fun thing about sweaters in the winter is that you can dress them up or dress them down. I usually wear my sweaters in a more causal format but paired with some statement ears and accessories you can easily take your sweater look from day to night.

The winter is long and drawn out so adding pops of colors in your wardrobe definitely helps to keep things interesting. I love this orange sweater! It looks great with denim and whenever I wear it, I get so many compliments. I originally bought it wear in October (because Halloween) but it’s quickly becoming a favorite for the season.

I love sweaters that have really cute detailing and this oversized sweater had the cutest sleeves. I try to find small, unique details that will make the sweater pop unexpectedly. The small holes on the side were super cute to me. I loved it so much, I got the same exact one in this really pretty pastel pink.

Again, it looks great with denim but I could also see this pastel pink sweater with a mini skirt and a high boots! It’s super versatile and I love it! Fall/Winter is really the easiest time of year for my wardrobe because I pretty much keep the same sweaters in rotation and just accessorize an keep it moving!

I thought this post was perfect for the weather so I do hope you guys enjoy. How’s the weather where you are in the world? Let me know down below.
