Ingredients

For Million Dollar Bacon

  • 12 pieces of hickory smoked bacon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • Black pepper to taste

For Spinach Dip

  • 1 package of frozen spinach thawed and drained of excess liquid
  • 1 cup of whipped cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup mozarella cheese

To build crostini

  • 20 pieces of crostini toast already packaged (or 1 french loaf, cut into individual portions)

Instructions

Prepare the Million Dollar Bacon:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lay 12 pieces of hickory-smoked bacon flat on the prepared sheet. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of brown sugar evenly over each strip of bacon and add freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is caramelized and crispy. Keep a close eye during the last few minutes to avoid burning.
  • Once done, transfer the bacon to a cooling rack and let it cool completely. Once cooled, chop the bacon into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

2. Make the Spinach Dip:

  • In a medium bowl, add the thawed and drained package of frozen spinach.
  • Add 1 cup of whipped cream cheese, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella, and 1 tablespoon of garlic paste.
  • Mix everything together until well combined and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if desired.

3. Assemble the Crostini:

  • If using a French loaf, slice it into 1/2-inch thick pieces and toast until lightly golden and crunchy. If using pre-packaged crostini, skip this step.
  • Spread a generous layer of the prepared spinach dip onto each piece of crostini.

4. Add the Million Dollar Bacon:

  • Sprinkle the chopped million dollar bacon evenly over the top of each spinach dip crostini.

5. Bake the Crostini:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  • Arrange the assembled crostini on a large baking sheet.
  • Bake for 5 minutes, or until the crostini are heated through and the dip is slightly bubbly.

6. Serve & Enjoy:

  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately while warm and toasty. These crostini are perfect for any party, gathering, or just when you’re in the mood for a delicious treat!

Tips for the Best Spinach Dip Crostini:

Want to make sure these crostini turn out perfect every time? Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  1. Use a Sturdy Bread: Choose a French baguette or ciabatta bread for your crostini. Slice it about 1/2 inch thick and toast until golden and crispy. You need a good, sturdy base to hold up all that dip and bacon!
  2. Make the Bacon First: This is a pro tip! Prep your million dollar bacon ahead of time, so it has time to cool and firm up. That way, it won’t slide off when you top the crostini.
  3. Don’t Overload the Toppings: Less is more! A thin layer of spinach dip and a piece of bacon is just the right balance. You don’t want the toppings to overwhelm the bread.
  4. Serve Fresh: These are best enjoyed warm, so plan to assemble and serve them right away for maximum flavor and texture.

Perfect for Every Occasion

Whether you’re hosting a casual brunch or an elegant cocktail party, these crostini are the perfect addition to your spread. They’re easy to eat and look like something straight out of a restaurant, but the flavors are familiar and comforting. Pair them with a sparkling wine or a tangy cocktail to cut through the richness.
