Twist out after Goldwell Regimen |
Hi Beauties!
I want to make it my goal to do at least one product review a week (fingers crossed). So, here is my second review!
Over the weekend, I got the opportunity to try Goldwell Kerasilk Conditioning Treatment and Shampoo. My roommate made the purchase and urged me to give it a try! (Sharing natural hair care products is so much fun!)
Like I’ve stated in a previous post, I really don’t like shampooing my hair often. (No it’s not gross! lol Natural hair actually benefits more from not being stripped of all it’s natural nutrients! Curly/kinky hair prefers moisture over stripping.)
However, for the sake of the product review and it being at least 3 weeks since my last shampoo, I decided to give the shampoo a try.
Here are the product claims:
KERASILK ULTRA RICH CARE SHAMPOO
Cleanses unruly hair, leaving it instantly hydrated, smooth and shiny.
- For extremely dry, damaged and unmanageable hair types
- Leaves hair feeling instantly smooth, shiny and as soft as silk
- Excellent for hair exposed to many chemical services
I would without a doubt recommend this product to transitioners!! Or even someone who is completely natural but has severe heat or color damage.
My shampoo method was simple. I sectioned my hair into four big twists and applied a quarter size amount of shampoo to each section. I massaged my scalp gently making sure to focus on not scratching my scalp with my nails and allowing the lather to flow to the ends of my hair naturally. The lather did go on smooth and had a “silky” feel to it.
After shampooing my hair I rinsed thoroughly with warm water and proceeded to apply the Kerasilk Ultra Rich Care Treatment.
Here are the product claims:
KERASILK ULTRA RICH CARE TREATMENT
The most caring formula available today, offers deep intense conditioning that rebalances the hair’s structure, making it sleek, easy-to-comb and soft as silk.
- For extremely dry damaged and unmanageable hair types
- Leaves hair feeling instantly smooth, shiny and as soft as silk
- Excellent for hair exposed to multiple chemical services
- Rinse off treatment
I also applied the treatment to my hair while it was in sections(makes for easier detangling process). I applied a quarter sized amount to each section of my hair and detangled with my over-sized shower comb. The product left my hair feeling soft instantly and detangled my hair very well! I left the product on for about 5 minutes to allow it to saturate my hair fully. I then washed the treatment out with cold water (This will seal the hair cuticle. If the cuticles are left open, hair may appear dull, and be prone to excess tangles in addition to frizz.)
The Good:
- If I just had to use a shampoo and I had no choice, I wouldn’t mind using this one. The shampoo left my hair feeling silky and smooth as it claims. I liked the fact that I didn’t have to use more than a quarter sized amount to get the product to sud. Most shampoo’s you don’t get much sud the first time, which forces you to shampoo more than once. This product held true to its claims and revitalized my hair!
- The conditioner was wonderful and something that I will use again in the future! I loved how easy and manageable my hair was after using the conditioner and my detangling process was smooth and easy!
The Bad:
- The products are a little on the pricy side. Shampoo and treatment approximately $18 each.
- I do feel as though there are other more affordable products on the market that can give the same results without costing this much.

*After conditioning my hair I added vatika coconut oil to my hair and proceeded to do a quick twist out!

Not sure if the shininess came from the treatment or the coconut oil |
Have you ever tried any GoldWell products before?? Let me know!
xoxo,
Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to try both the shampoo and the conditioner.
Definitely give it a try…they are both worth the one time investment! lol I had great results. And the amount of product you get in the shampoo should last you up to a year depending on how consistent you are with this line!
Thanx for the review. I bought it myself already
