MTV CASTING CALL

Hi Beauties!

Source

If big chopping is something that’s been on your mind heavily lately then I have some great news for you. MTV’s True Life series is currently seeking African American women who are ready to open up about their natural hair journey to the world!

“Is your hair your obsession? How are you struggling with your hair? Do you feel natural hair would let you embrace your true self, and you want to go for the “big chop?” Why now? What has held you back up to this moment? We would like to follow someone who is ready to do the “big chop” and follow them on their journey as they transition into their natural hair.

If you appear to be between the ages of 15 -28 and would like us to document your transition to natural hair, email us at casting@lintonmedia.com and tell us about your story. Please include your name, location, phone number and recent photos of yourself.”

How awesome would this be to watch someone on national TV share their journey of what it’s like to do the big chop! (We all know this can be a very emotional yet self fulfilling journey.)

For me this could be a huge hit or a detrimental miss. MTV has the opportunity to really illustrate what natural hair means to black women. However, they also have the potential to make this a depiction of vanity, instead of the journey of self-expression and acceptance of love for one’s self.

We’ll see how this turns out. I hope they pick the right women! That could you be YOU!!!

What do you think, beauties? Can MTV successfully pull off this unique “True Life” episode?

Sound off below.

This is AWESOME! Not to sound corny but I read the first paragraph, twice…just to make sure I was reading it right. I'm over that age range but I will definitely watch the episode. Please keep us posted when it airs, I don't usually watch MTV.

    Thanks. 🙂
