I recently performed the big chop. Recently as in 6.22.12! I plan to rock my newly natural hair in twist outs and wash-n-go's for the summer. I have been using shea moisture products to maintain moisture throughout the day and to really define my curls! I think these products will help achieve the look of a wash-n-go by helping me to maintain moisture and really show natural does not mean nappy!

I've been wearing alot of Bantu Knot-outs lately and I think the Anti-Breakage hair Masque will help protect my hair this summer especially if I'm out in the heat because I don't wear my hair in a actual protective style like a bun wigs or weave to protect my ends.

I plan on wearing a lot of wash n go's , twist-outs, braid-outs, up-dos, box braids, and possibly sew-ins. Let's just say I'll be mainly trying to protect my hair from this heat as much as possible! I will use these Shesa Moisture products to help me with these protective styles and help with the breakage that I've been having lately, to help me retain moisture, and the softness and whatever use I can possibly get out of it! lol

Since I am transitioning! I am having a NO HEAT SUMMER!!!! To help maintain my hair I have been doing a lot of Bantu knots, Twist outs, and Braid outs. As far as products I simply use Olive and Vitamin E oil! I am 7mo so far with my transition and due to the fact I am currently in Alaska for a paid internship from May to August, I decide to put in a sew-in! I love becoming natural! I just finish my first year in college and most of my friends when starting college dye or cut their hair for that change phase! Well I want to simply be me! Inside and out! So why not start with my hair! I am loving my journey so far!!

This summer I plan on rocking a lot of twist-outs and buns (I love how these two styles look and they are pretty easy to do). I also may throw in a few sew-ins with an invisible part just to give my natural hair a break. I think these two products will help define my curl pattern while providing moisture for my hair and making the hairstyle 10x's better. 🙂

  11. June 27, 2012 / 2:00 pm

This summer I plan on doing twist outs for that most part, but I want to get box braids too. If I'm going to me doing a lot of twist outs Im going to need to keep my hair moisturized and prevent breakage while manipulating my hair so I think the Shea Moisture Anti-Breakage Masque would be great to use before doing my twist outs and the hair milk to maintain moisture, plus I planned on trying these 2 products since I already use a lot of Shea Moisture products like the deep treatment masque, restorative shampoo & conditioner, reconstructive elixir, and even the coconut & hibiscus body wash.

    Hello All…
Since I just cut off the remaining perm out in Jan i am still learning what products work for me. This summer I will be rocking more twist outs, and flat twist as protective styles. One of my goals is retaining length and more keeping my hair moist for the summer. I think that Shea Moisture can help everyone no matter what phase your hair is in.
P.S. Natasha, you are my inspiration and hair crush. I can't wait for my hair to get your length.

A couple of months ago I put a reddish burnt orange color in the front and middle of my hair. I will be trying styles that wont be putting stress or strain on my hair. Sometimes during the summer I wear twist or braids but I dont think so right now. I would love to win these products for my hair because I see a little breakage towards the front and edges. These products are excellent and helped me a lot during my transition stage.

Right now I have kinky twists in my hair that I plan to take out in the beginning of August to….finally cut off my relaxed ends! I'm so excited, I've been transitioning for 2 years and can't wait to style my hair without the annoying relaxed ends. I plan on doing twistouts while the weather is still warm and I think this line will work wonders on my thin strands! 🙂 aradedugbe@gmail dot com

I plan to protective style all summer in twists and braids. Sometime in between I plan to do twist outs and braid outs to create new looks. SheaMoisture products give great holds to twists and the moisture is amazing. I have no doubt they will make my summer bearable.

Two things I really like with this line is that it defines my curls while at the same time helps my hair retain moisture. This is particularly good since it is so hot and my hair tends to dry out way easier. Not much protective styling for me this summer.. :(……Twist outs/ braid outs and wash and goes and whats better than curls that are soft, defined and not dry?

  34. June 28, 2012 / 4:45 pm

I plan to keep rocking a healthy and thick TWA! especially if I win 🙂 I changed climates this summer and my hair is still trying to figure it out. I am sure the Shea moisture product line would work wonders!

This summer I plan to wear my hair in a roller set, twist outs, and braid outs seeing that I am transitioning to fully natural hair. I believe the masque will help my hair stop breaking at the demarcation line as I comb through my curls and let out my hairstyles. Also, the thickening milk will make my hair healthier and fuller so my curls won't look transparent. I'm 5 months into transitioning and I know this would help my hair a lot.
    Thank you.

Hello. I am another transitioner, but i started in April, around my birthday. I've been natural before, about 12 years ago. The difference, however, is that there were virtually no products for me to use on my hair back then. Now, there are soooo many!! My last relaxer was about a year ago. My relaxed hair has already started to re-curl. So, my summer hair style is going to be naturally curly because my goal is to try as many products as I can to figure out what works best for my hair!! I've heard very nice things about Shea Moisture, and I would love to try it out!!
