You need these Super Bowl Menu Ideas NOW!

To me, the Super Bowl is a big deal for a few reasons. First, my husband really loves it when the Eagles are in the game, but even when they’re not, he’s still not missing it. At all. Second, the halftime show. Always. And third, as a marketer at heart and a creator by day, the commercials are half the reason I show up. I want the storytelling, the cultural moments, the ads everyone’s talking about the next morning.

But no matter how invested we are in the game, the performances, or the commercials, one thing never changes. The food is always the main event.

Game day food has to do a lot. It needs to feel indulgent but familiar, impressive but not stressful, and abundant enough that no one’s wondering what’s coming next. I want the table to feel full before kickoff and still exciting by halftime.

I always start with wings because they set the tone. My lemon pepper parmesan baked wings are a must. They’re easy, oven-baked, tossed in a buttery lemon sauce, and finished with parmesan cheese. They’re one of those dishes people hover over before the game even starts. I pair those with classic buffalo wings, also done in the oven, because they’re low effort, easy to scale, and the oven does all the work.

Next come the dips, because dips are the first thing people attack. I like to open with a Tex-Mex inspired spinach dip served hot and bubbly. And because I already know that one isn’t making it past the first quarter, I always plan a second, more traditional spinach dip to carry us through halftime. This is a hosting rule I stand by.

To keep things interesting, I add a few unexpected bites. Southwest-inspired egg rolls bring bold flavor and spice, while prosciutto and mozzarella egg rolls add a salty, savory contrast. They’re familiar enough to feel comforting but different enough to feel special.

When it comes to handhelds, classics always win. Upside-down puff pastry hot dogs are fun, nostalgic, and always a hit. I’ll also make traditional pigs in a blanket for smaller bites. Sliders are non-negotiable, so chicken bacon ranch sliders are on the menu, and funeral sliders make an appearance too because they never miss.

Nachos are all about timing. Right before halftime, I make sheet-pan nachos so the chips stay crisp and everyone gets a fresh plate. And I never skip the nacho cheese sauce. Ever.

For heartier options, I lean into comfort. Loaded potato cups topped with sour cream, bacon, and cheddar always disappear. Pull-apart pizza cups satisfy the pizza craving without committing to a full pie. And because I’m from up north, a classic turkey club hoagie always feels right on game day.

After all that, dessert doesn’t need to be complicated. Copycat Insomnia peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are the perfect ending. Warm, nostalgic, and exactly what you want once the game starts winding down.

The Super Bowl might be about football, commercials, and halftime shows, but in this house, the food is what brings everyone together. Full tables, easy hosting, and dishes that keep people reaching for one more bite. That’s the real win.
